> >
At CMYPrinting, we offer a number of cover surface options, including; gloss lamination, matte laminationembossing, debossing, foil stamping, spot UV, die-cutting and much more.

Lamination

Lamination is a cover surface option that not just helps protect the print surface, but also decorates it. In lamination, a thin layer of transparent plastic film is used to cover the print surface in books as well as catalogs. Lamination can be of two types, including: gloss, and matte lamination.
Glossy Lamination

In gloss lamination, the layer of transparent plastic film is relatively more glossy, making the book cover appear more bright.
Matte Lamination

In this, the layer of transparent plastic film is matte in nature and makes the book over feel extremely soft, much like silk.

Varnishing

Varnishing can be either gloss or matte, in which the surface is printed with a gloss ink or matte ink. Varnishing can be seen as an additional coating process that is done after printing color. Varnishing not just protects the surface, but also enhances its overall look after printing. To add to it, varnishing prevents the print from setting off, while giving the surface a smooth, bright and high-end appeal for users.

Spot UV

Spot UV is one of the best ways to highlight significant design elements, like the book title or company logo, etc. It is a kind of matte lamination or surface finish technology that makes the cover more impressive. Spot UV helps enhance the surface brightness, transparency, wear resistance of the UV oil and polishing. This is why Spot UV is best suited to be used for highlighting high-end books, magazines, catalogs, and many other paper covers. Most commonly, Spot UV is done either on matte lamination.

Foil Stamping

Also termed as hot stamping, foil stamping adds a strong metallic luster to photos and texts. The best thing about foil stamping is that its bright colors are not prone to fading. Foil stamping is a technology that can add better-looking gloss and realistic metal texture to printing products. You can use foil stamping to design your logo or title on the surface, as it will add more value to your final printing outcome. Foil stamping is not just used to create shiny graphic designs, but can also be used on a wide range of paper options. So, if you want you over to feel different and stand out from the rest, then you must choose foil stamping for your printing product.

At CMYPrinting, we not just offer silver foil printing or gold foil printing, but also offer more colorful foil stamping options, including colors like white, black, red, green, etc.

Embossing and Deboss

An embossed pattern is one that is raised against the backdrop, whereas a debossing pattern refers to a pattern that is sunken into the surface. Using any of these two patterns can help add a 3D effect to the photos or text on the surface of your printing product.

For the perfect effect, it is required to use embossing on a thick paper, like a 250gsm or 300gsm thick paper for a cover. As far as debossing is concerned, it must be done using more than 1mm thick board wrapped with printed paper, like a hardcover board or a bookcase board.

Die-Cutting

Die-cutting is a method that helps create a different shape for cover or interior sheet purposes.
