The first thing to keep in mind is than an art book focuses primarily on your artwork. Therefore, the print quality is very important. Since the color of the art, which you include in your artwork needs to be as close to the original color of the actual artwork, using high resolution pictures and correct color for printing your art books is of great importance. Since we are an offset printer, all files you provide to us should be in the CMYK color mode. If the colors are in RGB colors mode, it will turn out to be a little different after conversion. Therefore, provide artworks in CMYK color modes to begin with, in order to avoid such color alteration.

Secondly, each art book has its own specifications and we will be there every step of the way to guide you. For paintings, the color needs to be strong enough to be visible when printed on paper. 157gsm gloss art or matte art paper for interior pages is the perfect choice for such needs. The photos that are printed on coated paper will have more details and richer colors; hence, they too would make a good choice. The colors printed on coated paper allows for vivid prints, which is perfect for paintings.

Finally, size is another important decision, which you would need to make concerning your art book. We can provide a free cover design template once you tell us the size and inner page amount for your book. With the help of your specifications, we can calculate the cover’s thickness as well. Some art books need a cover with a flap. Our regular flap width ranges are from 90mm to 200mm. How to Print Large Size Art Book?

We have worked with many clients who tasked us to create a large-sized art book. For a large-size book, a thicker paper for the cover and the interior are the best choice. A 300gsm or 350gsm gloss art paper would be perfect for the cover. A 157gsm or 200gsm gloss art or matte art paper would prove to be brilliant for the interior pages. Thicker material will also prevent bleeding through of the graphics from one side to the other side of the paper.

For larger books, we recommend sewn and perfect binding or sewn and hardcover binding. Sewing and perfect binding consists of sewing all the inner pages first and then gluing the binding with the cover. We also use glue binding after sewing, which makes the book perfect bound. This finish will also allow the book to be perfect for being able to open flat and therefore, provide the best full-page visibility for users. Hardcover art books are also a very popular choice. However, hardcover costs are higher than perfect binding, which is a thing that you should keep in mind. If you budget allows, we recommend going for hardcover art books, as they are sturdier and look a lot more classy than the other variants. If your budget is low, a perfect bound art book is the best choice.
