Comic Book Printing Services for Self-Publishers

Comic Book Cover
The design of the book highlights the personality, and it is common for designers to design different comic book dimensions. We are an offset printer. Finally, when you design the full-color cover artwork, please contact us to calculate the book spine thickness. Tell us the book size, interior paper, and interior page count. The spine thickness is the area between the front and the back covers. Please make sure the texts or logos on the spine are shorter than spine thickness, by at least 2mm and center graphics are used in the middle of the spine.
Comic Book Design Tips
At first, in order to print a comic book, you need to keep in mind that a comic book is usually filled with pictures on every page. When creating your layout, be sure to keep 3mm bleed on the top, bottom, left and right in all pages. A 3mm bleed will be cut after binding. Having pictures within the bleed will get them clipped. Hence, ensure that the layout is created according to the aforementioned specifications so as to avert such a situation.
Secondly, pictures used in comic books are designed by a variety of software. Please provide a vector PDF file for texts that require printing. If vector files are not available, the artwork must be of high resolution. They should be of at least 300dpi. We would not be able to resize or print low-quality images without destroying the image quality.
Last, if a picture requires being across two pages, be sure to not put the character’s face or other important details at the connecting area of the two pages. The binding will make the graphics look distorted.
Paper and Binding Tips
We have a lot of paper options, which you can choose from for stock. Many comic book publishers prefer to use thinner paper for inner pages. We suggest using at least 80gsm or 105gsm gloss art or matte art paper. In addition, we also suggest you finish the book with a sewn and perfect binding. This type of binding allows the picture to going over two pages to have better visibility.
Next, if the comic book is less than 56 pages, we suggest finishing with a saddle stitch. It is economical and great for lower budgets.

Tell us the specifications and our designer will create a hardcover comic book cover template for you to design upon. For hardcover artwork, you need to have an estimated 20mm space for wrapping on the hardcover board, which is going to be used. It is important to keep this space because otherwise, your artwork might not be fitted on top of the book cover in a fashionable manner, making the entire comic book look and feel bad.
